Fern & Harry’s Boho Wedding at Chatea de Varennes, France

Fern and Harry married in 2022 at the breathtaking Chateau de Varennes in Burgundy, France. Their wedding was originally planned for Puglia, but due to Harry’s work commitments and the lingering Covid travel restrictions, we moved the celebration to France. In true “everything happens for a reason” style, it was the perfect choice – France was always close to their hearts, as it’s where Harry had proposed.

The wedding fell in another year of storms, and while we dodged plenty of rain showers, the atmosphere remained full of joy and laughter. At one point, a member of our team even got caught in a tarpaulin during a gale – proof that the weather always keeps us on our toes at destination weddings!

Fern envisioned a relaxed, boho-inspired wedding design, with lots of pampas grass and shades of toffee and nude. These tones blended beautifully with the elegant backdrop of Chateau de Varennes, creating the perfect harmony between French grandeur and free-spirited style.

True to their love of music and celebration, the groom surprised everyone by arranging for Tom Grennan to perform their first dance – and many more songs afterwards. (He’s not one to give up a microphone easily!)

The weekend ended with a half-indoor, half-outdoor pool party, thanks to the ever-changing weather, but that didn’t stop their guests from celebrating in style. That’s the magic of having the right people at a wedding – they can make a party come alive anywhere.
